The story of the supposed WMD programmes of Saddam Hussein allowed international cameras to record, while investigating in Iraq, a few containers that exhibit the characteristics of subcritical nuclear cores with additional holes.

These cores seem somehow different yet inspired, possibly, by an old US patent https://patents.google.com/patent/US3170842A/

The cores are bigger, seem to be either vacuum effect cores (hypothesis 1, for pumping oil like water is pumped in my article) or simply brought into the oil reserves, directly, to heat it and accelerate its rise, so cooled with a separate water system perhaps (hypothesis 2). Nevertheless these subcritical cores (I argue they were subcritical because of the thinness of the cores… basic system as in my link above, that’s my feeling) also allowed some plutonium production. Possibly (quite certainly…) Saddam Hussein took DU from the tanks in the South from the 1991 strikes (quite easy as much of the DU stayed inside the tanks). In a certain way no one can condemn that some of the resulting Pu239 is used for the shells of the tanks of his army, for the purposes of pure self-defense. Also possibly for shaped charge drilling. I’d say that if there had been a new nuclear programme involving something more than antitank shells the documents would have been published by now isn’t it ? Nevertheless it’s important to remind how Saddam Hussein’s programme for Kurdish genocide took his name from a Quran quote and he fired many Scuds at Israeli cities back in 1990 and funded Palestinian terrorism with oil dollars.

Oui, je pense que Saddam Hussein recyclait l’uranium appauvri collecté (sans doute à la main par du personnel…) dans les tanks légués par la guerre de 1991, aux fins de nourrir des coeurs nucléaires qui je pense étaient sous-critiques (comme dans mon article) pour, probablement, à la fois, pomper le pétrole (soit grâce à l’effet de vide comme dans mon article, soit en les utilisant simplement pour chauffer le pétrole, comme dans le brevet américain des années 1950 en lien plus haut), et produire des obus antichar pour son armée (ce qui, en soit relève de la self-défense légale). Eventuellement aussi des charges creuses pour forer plus de pétrole. Je ne pense pas qu’il y avait de programme nucléaire au-delà de l’antitank, des preuves auraient sans doute été déjà apportées depuis…

Je rappelle que dans les années 1980-1990 Saddam Hussein s’est librement inspiré du Coran pour l’opération Al-Anfal dont le paroxysme fut le gazage d’Halabja, auquel le gazage à uranium appauvri de Falloujah semble répondre symétriquement. L’intitulé “Al Anfal” est une référence au Coran. Il a aussi pilonné Israel avec des Scuds (plus de 200 morts) en 1990 et finançait la cause palestinienne à grands coups de chèques en dollars aux terroristes de l’OLP.
