I did an experiment by talking to ChatGPT of Norwegian crop yields. After Norway got massively into electric cars in 2023, their grain yields collapsed, were kind of halved. This is from the official state statistical service of Norway :

So I went to see ChatGPT and asked tough questions. Here is the full result. Read please to the end. You’ll see that ChatGPT progressively admits that the green transition can affect negatively crop yields. And when I find that because photosynthesis is endothermic, a lack of leads to a hotter climate less favourable to agriculture, it eventually goes totally in my direction.

So good luck with the energy transition if things stay as they are ! A climate heat up from a lack of photosynthesis (because of the lack of CO2 emissions) can reduce rain levels (as opposed to what happened after Germany ended subsidising electric cars…) and in turn affect negatively even more crop yields.
What makes CO2 able to colden up the climate was explained in this earlier blog post. Don’t miss it !
